About Santorini
Santorini, this amazing volcanic island that lays on the southern side of the Aegean Sea, is the most popular Greek island and among the most romantic destinations in the world. The volcanic background of Santorini has given it its rare geological look with the steep cliffs, the fertile soil and the arid nature. The capital of Santorini is Fira, a lovely town with amazing views to the volcano, the only volcano in the world with a submerged caldera. The most famous village, however, is Oia, on the northern side of the island, with the wonderful sunset. Beaches in Santorini are mostly pebbled. Red Beach, Perissa, Perivolos and Kamari are the best organized, however there are many other secluded coves around the island to enjoy some privacy.
